The water is coming but either too much or too little
How to distribute the water fairly & efficiently together with the people and between them.
The 22th of February 2021 will be the 14th World Water Day.
A water crisis is one of the greatest threats to humanity. Hence attention is paid to the inseparable relationship between Water and climate change through an Aquathon at the initiative of the Lectorate, Water Technology next year in March 2021.
This is a preliminary program. Melle Ykema will explains how we in the Netherlands are trying to distribute the available water fairly between the urban- nature- and agricultural areas. Maarten Veerman will explain how to build a circular climate system for the Dutch Pavilion World Expo Dubai2020 – postponed 01-10-2021 - with zero CO-2 footprint. In the pavilion you will experience how the Netherlands can harvest sustainable food, water, and energy.
Technology artist Ap Verheggen explains how he extracts water from desert air with his Sun glacier project. Verheggen works with the Ministry of Defense. All this aims to inspire: everyone has a role to play in using water more efficiently.
