Welcome to Creative Media and Game Technologies (CMGT)! On this page you will find more information about the introduction and the start of your study programme.

Classes will start on Monday 2 September. Your schedule will be available online at Xedule  in August. Please check all schedules, so you will have an idea about subjects and times on the first days of your study. You will receive detailed information upon arrival at Saxion University and online.

On MySaxion.nl you will find all the tools you need for your studies at Saxion. You can find the following on MySaxion:

Your timetable and changes to your timetable;
Information about exams;
Your most recent e-mails, grades and Bison and Brightspace announcements;
Who’s who: easily search for a lecturer or fellow student;
Information about your degree programme and Saxion's facilities;
Urgent notices and news

MySaxion Student App
Thanks to the new MySaxion Student App, you can now check your phone at any moment to see your current timetable and exam timetable. If a timetable changes, then you will receive a notification. Read on to see how to install the app and what you can expect of it. 

This is the first step towards offering you a smartphone app that has all the information you could need during your studies. Download the app, available in the store now! 

Laptop

Required for ALL ROLES

Laptop with recent mobile graphics card: i7 processor - minimum of 16GB RAM (32 strongly preferred) - 1TB SSD - RTX 4050 or AMD 6600M (or higher)

Cost around 1000 euros and up.

Better specifications are always worth investing in. You are going to use this for at least years, so buying good quality hardware and hardware that is comfortable to use is a wise choice. This entirely depends on your budget.

Headset

Required for ALL ROLES
Headset (a model with Over-ear isolating cushions) for audio lessons. Sennheiser a Harman Kardon are decent brands.

Costs around 50 euros.

Better specifications are always worth investing in. You are going to use this for at least years, so buying good quality hardware and hardware that is comfortable to use is a wise choice. This entirely depends on your budget.

Drawing tablet

Required for ARTIST ROLE
Drawing tablet: Wacom bamboo / Huion pro.

Costs around 100 euros.

Better specifications are always worth investing. You are going to use this for at lea years, so buying good quality hardware and hardware that is comfortable to use is a wise choice. This entirely depends on your budget.

Software

Required for ALL ROLES

Ableton Live 12 standard for students and teachers Ableton Live for students and teachers | Ableton
You can buy this through www.surfspot.nl once you have a student status.
Costs around 130 euros for unlimited license.

Adobe Creative suite
You can buy the complete Adobe suite through www.surfspot.nl once you have the status.
The license can be split over 2 computers, so could be shared with another student the costs. Costs around 120 euros a year.

Required for ARTIST ROLE

The INTRO is coming up! 💚 This is your first week at Saxion and your introduction to your education, fellow students and student city. In the week of August 27 to 29, you and your program will go out for an unforgettable start to your studies!

Choose the location of your study program and sign up. You can also reserve a place to sleep, so be quick (full=full)!
