Frequently asked questions about International Finance and Accounting
Every year has two semesters, each semester has 10 weeks, only 7 of those 10 weeks you will have classes, during those weeks you will have approximately 20 ‘contact’ hours per week, your total study time depends on yourself, on average we would recommend to see your study as full ‘working’ week of 40 hours. Some students need less time, some need more.
In your third year you will have an internship, you will work full time with a company on a financial department, in this way you will get a good working experience. The internship will last for 20 weeks in a real company.
IFA is kind of a ‘mirror’ programme from F&C (in Dutch: Bedrijfseconomie), but the benefit to study an international programme is that you will be in a classroom with about 10 different nationalities, this international environment will prepare you better for the international professional field within the Netherlands or abroad.
During your study you can chose to go three semesters abroad, you are allowed to do you internship, minor or thesis (Research and Advisory Report) abroad. Saxion is connected with several international partners to make that happen for you.
All of our graduating students find a job after their study, some choose to continue their study. You can find several functions in the finance field. Working for regular companies or maybe at a bank or insurance company or for the government.
