This is what you do as Research Engineer Smart Industrial Robotic Systems

You will design, build and validate new solutions, resulting in new prototypes and applied solutions; Typical examples of applications are the use of cobots and robotic manipulators for industrial automation. These prototypes are realised with the use of vision, path planning, target manipulation and/or data driven reinforcement learning. You will be working on the integration and implementation of these systems.

School of Life Science, Engineering and Design
As research engineer unmanned robotic systems you will be a member of the Smart Mechatronics And RoboTics (SMART) Research Group. This team is part of the School of Life Science, Engineering and Design (LED). LED offers an inspiring and effective learning, work and research environment, focused on applied technologies and recent national and international developments.

Job requirements

We seek a professional who fits the job profile below. Does this sound like you? Then this job is ideal for you!

  • At least Master of Science in a relevant technical discipline, like robotics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, applied computer science or mechatronics.
  • Broad experience with and knowledge of the building blocks of robotics: Sensing & perception, control &manipulation,  cognition &AI, all in the context of industrial automation/ industrial settings.
  • You make it work and you want to know why it works.
  • Enthusiastic team player, who involves other engineers, companies and students in the project and is driven to contribute to team results.
  • Affinity with education and ability to motivate students.
