Nano4Crime

Developing nanotechnologies to enhance and improve forensic research in both laboratory settings and on crime scenes.

This is done in collaboration with the research group Technologies for Criminal Investigations. This partnership aims to advance the integration of nanotechnology into forensic practices.

Projects

The Criminal InvestigationDX (CIDX) project, funded by NWO, involves 19 organizations working together to develop and validate rapid tests for DNA material and biological trace analysis, aiming to improve crime scene investigations and enhance public trust in the legal system.

The DavinciQD 2.0 project aims to develop methods for dating biological traces at crime scenes using quantum dots to bind specific biomarkers in fingerprints and other biological samples, integrating these methods into existing forensic practices and training.
